About this resource
To support teachers this Alcohol Awareness Week, Drinkaware is providing an introductory lesson plan from its free Drinkaware for Education resources designed to help teachers of young people aged 9-14 to quickly and efficiently familiarise alcohol awareness. Featuring a package of easy-to-use and relatable resources, the introductory lesson plan is free to download and flexible for all teaching and learning styles. Drinkaware for Education is a free, curriculum-linked alcohol education programme suitable for PSHE lessons with students in both primary and secondary schools. These resources are fully accredited by the PSHE Association's Quality Assurance Mark as a key tool to support teachers when addressing attitudes among young people about a range of negative consequences from alcohol consumption. Teachers and young people will explore subjects such as the law on alcohol, health and social harms associated with underage drinking and the relationship between peer pressure and underage drinking.
